It’s pretty much CS:GO eSports, but with planes.
eSports organization s field two main squadrons and a reserve for substitutions. You can have either an air-to-air team deathmatch or objectives race where each team has a base or protected assets like a carrier task force. Skins and emblems are based on the teams; team comms are actual comms from the players, with VR setups for screens. Best-of-3 in group stages and knockout stages up until the Final 4 and Finals, where it becomes a best-of-5. Prize pool of somewhere around $50,000 plus sales of skins and emblems based on the tournament.
Yeah, that’s basically it. Now tear it apart!

I don’t know much about Ace Combat, but it seems like everything that makes air combat interesting, like conservation of energy, the cat-and-mouse game of radar search, etc. aren’t present.
On the other hand, DCS World would be an amazing eSport. The 104th Squadron holds “Red Flag” events every so often and their live stream is amazing fun to watch. With some polish to the broadcast I think it could go places.
This scottish guy’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the game paired with the real-world knowledge from that guy from the Fighter Pilot Podcast would be a dream team.
